I've been looking a good Japanese restaurant since I've moved here without luck until a friend recommended this place. Great food and service both times I've been here and it'll definitely be my go to spot. Absolutely recommend this spot to anyone.
Food was ok, Teriyaki made my mouth taste like cigarettes, though, the lady at the counter couldn't hear my order, made the visit uncomfortable. Sushi was good. The carpet needs attention.
I've been frequenting Masaru's since they opened in Visalia. I will think twice about ever going to the Mary's Vinyard Masaru's ever again. Poorest customer service I have ever encountered. I placed an order at around 8 p.m. because it says they do not close until 9 p.m. I informed the lady that took my order I would be later than the 10 minutes she said it would take to prepare my 2 rice bowls. When I got there, the lady was at the door, lights were on. There was a plastic bag with 2 bowls on the counter. I told her, at the door, that I was there for my rice bowls. She said, "We dumped the register already." I asked her what she did with my bowls. She said all nonchalantly, "Oh, we threw them in the trash because no one came for them." Mind you, this was 5 minutes before 9 p.m. I saw her and another girl walk out, one with the bag of bowls in her hand. They told some gentleman in black to lock the door behind them. The lights were still on in the establishment. I decided to use my cell to record the girls leaving the establishment and the guy locking up and I also recorded the time. It was the rudest situation I have ever encountered. There was no apology and it was before 9 p.m. It clearly stated online and on the door that Mon.- Sat. they are open until 9 p.m. If a customer places an order before that time and comes to get their food there is no reason why the workers should be leaving with food and leaving a paying customer out cold without a kind word. It meant nothing to this young lady or her co-workers to treat me this way on a Monday evening when it was probably slow for them anyway. Maybe you should tell people your establishment closes at 8:45 p.m. so your employees that don't care about customers can go home right at 9 p.m. It wasn't even a school night. It's summer time. At the same time they are claiming to throw food in the trash, there's a homeless man trying to sell Jesus figurines for food outside the door. Shame on you Masaru's. The girl "throwing away" food to her co-worker maybe should throw some that poor man's way. Despicable and snotty employee.
We get the bowls, udon, chicken salad, gyoza, cal. rolls, and it's all been great. can't comment on fish sushi rolls. make sure you order extra teriyaki, they charge for extra. staff is not always attentive or friendly, but it's really a "fast food" place.
The Chicken Bowls are great with the Spicy Teriyaki Sauce.
