I reserved my unit for today, Sep 4th, from company's website. They gave me a confirmation number and said that I had to come in person to the office to complete the contract because they do not offer online contracts. The website said the office is open every day except Sunday. At the time of reservation, there was no mention that the office would not work on Sep 4th for Labor Day, neither did the reservation prevent me from choosing Sept 4th as the beginning of the my contract. So I hired a moving company to drive my stuff from Phoenix, AZ, to Visalia only to find myself in front of closed doors. After 1 hour on the phone with different representatives of Security Self Storage, the answer I repeatedly and unequivocally received was there was no way I could rent a storage today; in the 21st century it was impossible for them to get all the info they needed and my payment over the Internet, even though it was their fault not to say that the office would no work on Labor day and further giving me false assurance by confirming my reservation. Even one of the hired costumer service representatives thought the office should be open today because there was no mention of them not working. In case you missed the significance of their lack of professionalism and responsibility, let me repeat it again. I drove 10 hours to Visalia, spent $2000 for moving, provided with reservation for Labor Day, was told to come to the office to sign the contract, did not see any mention of the office being closed for Labor day, spent 2 hours with costumer service to find no help. And there was I with my house in a truck and movers waiting for me tell them where to unload it. Now I have to spend another $400-500 for additional truck renting and labor. One thing is sure though, I will hold them responsible for the unprofessionalism by all means available.
